What is a TCG?

TCG stands for 'Trading Card Game'. It's generally just like those card games you were obsessed with when you were younger (eg. Pokemon), and you would buy, collect and trade those cards to make the ultimate deck to battle others (or you just collected them because they were pretty XD). These online TCGs have the same basic underlying concept, even though the methods are slightly different. This amazing and pretty addictive game was created by the awesome Calico and without her, it wouldn't exist!

If you're a first time player, this information may not be the best guide for you. It assumes that you are familiar with TCGs, and just here to clarify any information. But, there are many other TCG sites out there that will carefully explain every detail to you ^^

Cherish

Cherish is a relationships TCG. The relationships featured are all romantic relationships that are either canon or heavily hinted. No fanon relationships eg. Hermione and Snape (this is to try and minimise the possibilities, otherwise there would be so many sets to create, plus I would be hard pressed to find images). Currently, relationships that are featured are from: anime, asian dramas, films, music videos, tv shows and video games.

If you look at the card page, you'll see that there aren't any homosexual relationships... Why? Well, it's another of my attempts at trying to narrow the number of possibilites. I don't have anything against homosexual relationships, it's just that I don't really watch anything with homosexual people, and so it'd be rather hard for me to make sets or update games when I don't have much knowledge ^^; But of course, if the demand is high, and people are willing to donate, I will create homosexual sets, but for now, while I see how this newly created TCG works, I'll put it on the back burner.

Starter Pack

After you send in your join form, you'll receive a starter pack. In that starter pack, it'll contain: 2 cards from your collecting set, 6 random cards and $10. After you've put up your starter pack, remember to email me! I'll take you off pending and give you an extra random card :D

Please do not play games, take update freebies or send in forms before you've received your starter pack. Also, remember, you cannot take update freebies from before the date you joined, eg. if you joined on the 1st January, you can't take any freebies from before that day.

Trade Post

Obviously, you need a trade post to play :D It doesn't need to be anything fancy or complicated, a simple page with links will do ^^ This is what you need/should have on it:

» Your name (what you submitted on the join form)
» Level badge (or just text if you prefer)
» Your card count and worth
» Your cards sorted into categories (to make it easier for others to trade with you). Generally they are sorted into "will trade", "might trade", "future collections" and "collecting"
» Another category, not necessary but useful (and most people have them anyway), "pending trades" or anything pending really
» A link back to Cherish
» And the most cruical thing: You MUST have a detailed, accurate and up-to-date log of how you earned every single card and money
» A trade form or email address, so people can trade with you (but a form is usually more appealing because it's easier)

Earning Cards

Games & Contests: Probably the most common way to earn cards. Each game has different reward amounts and at least one group is generally updated at least once a week. Contests/activities are bigger, run for longer, and you can earn a larger amount of cards and depending on the person (and my creativity to create something interesting) are fun

Trading: This is the point of joining TCGs! Why would you join if you didn't trade? Easy way to gain cards you want and get rid of cards you don't need! The more you trade, the more cards you can gain from a set, and therefore master the set faster!

Donating: I love donations! Whether it's graphic or image, I am grateful for them ^^ It makes my job a lot easier and makes me feel like people actually care about and like my TCG XD

Leveling Up: You'll receive cards when you reach a certain card worth. See below for more information

Mastering: Mastering a deck will give you a reward depending on the set you mastered. See below for more information

Birthdays: On your special day of birth, you will receive a special birthday card of your month, 2 cards of choice, 2 random cards and $50

Referring: Another thing that all owners love! New members! Referring a member gets you one random card, while it's not a lot, if you do refer a lot of people here (by pimping ;D) you can gain quite a lot.

Levels

Here at Cherish, levels are counted by card worth (not card count) ^^ But make sure you keep record of both your card count and worth. Once you gain enough cards to go to the next "level", remember to send in a form to receive your rewards (and change your level badge!) so I can move you onto the next level. The level ups here are named after the process to create a bouquet of flowers :D

Level 1 is First Thought = 1 - 50
Level 2 is Browsing Selection = 51 - 100
Level 3 is Selecting Floral = 101 - 200
Level 4 is Deciding On Fillers = 201 - 300
Level 5 is Choosing Paper = 301 - 400
Level 6 is Arranging The Bouquet = 401 - 550
Level 7 is Tying The Ribbon = 551 - 700
Level 8 is Writing A Message = 701 - 850
Level 9 is Delivering The Parcel = 851 - 1000
Level 10 is Loved One Receiving = 1001+

» For levels one to six, you will receive 1 choice card, 2 random cards and $10.
» For levels seven to ten, you will receive 1 choice card, 4 random cards and $20.

Mastering

When you've collected all the cards in a set, you're eligible to gain the rewards for mastering it! Send in a form to receive your rewards :D Remember you can't trade any cards from your mastered set because then you wouldn't have mastered it anymore and you will lose your mastery.

15 Card Deck (worth 1): 3 random cards, 2 choice cards, $10 (+1 random special card if you're first master)
10 Card Deck (worth 2): 4 random cards, 2 choice cards, $20 (+1 random special card if you're first master)
15 Card Deck (worth 2): 5 random cards, 2 choice cards, $30 (+1 random special card if you're first master)

Currency

Here at Cherish we use these truffles as our money ^^ Why chocolate? Because chocolate is both sweet and bitter like a relationship, or if you prefer, you can always say it heals a girl's broken heart XD These here are only for display.

Do I Play This TCG?

Do I play my own TCG? The answer is no. I'd really like to play it, but I've played my own previous TCGs before and it just didn't work out. I thought it was a hassle, and never updated my trade post because I always felt I was neglecting my TCG, and so felt guilty when I ever touched my TCG. Also, I don't want to look at my cards too much otherwise I might start hating it ^^; I may play in the future if I figure out a better system, but at the moment, no.
